I need to apply for a visa to attend the course; which duration shall have my visa?
The visa is necessary for the 2-months lessons + workshop only, because the internship/collaboration period will be activated only after the lessons and workshop period, and the internship/collaboration may not take place in Italy. Therefore, taking into consideration the duration of the lessons + workshop period, we recommend applying for a tourist visa.
Shall I choose the attendance mode when applying for the course?
It is not necessary, but it is possible to mention the intended attendance mode in the motivational letter.
Is it required to be an Italian speaker to attend the course?
No, it is not required to be an Italian speaker to attend the course. There will be a simultaneous interpreting service into English for non-Italian speakers.
How do I obtain a scholarship?
Here follow some suggestions to increase your chances to obtain a scholarship:
enter the registration area and carry out the standard enrollment procedure (by applying to a course, you automatically compete for one of the available scholarships, assigned to the best 3 candidates of each course);
create an effective CV; easily readable, concise, and approximately 2 pages long; the ideal CV is one that clearly reports the studies carried out, the degree mark, the languages spoken with related certification, and the main and most significant work experiences.
write a motivational letter that mirrors you; it is neither an autobiography nor a repetition of the experiences inferable from the CV: the perfect motivational letter is concise (approximately 350 words), it talks about you, your ambitions, and your desires, it allows us to get to know you as a person and reflects your personality;
present an attention-grabbing portfolio; among the main elements of the application, the ideal portfolio is easily readable, coherent in the various parts, respects spacing, alignments, and caesuras, has an orderly organization, and has readable and hierarchically ordered fonts. Remember that YACademy staff is available to help you with a preventive evaluation of your portfolio before the final submission; to obtain the review, simply upload your portfolio to your personal area, and ask for a review by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will reply with comments and any suggestions within 48 working hours.
promptly pay the administration fees: in the event of an equal score between candidates, the person who paid the administration fees first will obtain a higher score (once the fee has been paid, you will still be able to modify/upload each document of your application until the application deadline: the payment of the administration fees does not close the application procedure).
Does the course provide ECTS?
The students will receive an attendance certificate, that they can submit to their association, academic or professional entities to apply for ECTS, if foreseen by the aforementioned entities.
My academic course is not listed among those mentioned in the rules, am I however allowed to apply for YACademy's courses?
Yes, you are. The Selection Committee will evaluate the quality and consistency of the applications, regardless of the candidate's academic education.
When shall I pay for the administration fee?
It is necessary to pay the administration fee in order to complete the application to the course. Moreover, the date of administration fee payment will be relevant in case two or more candidates are assigned the same scores: priority will be given to the candidate that has made the administration fee payment earlier. The administration fee (60 € + VAT) is necessary to the finalization of the application and is different from the course fee (2450 + VAT for online attendance or 7900 € + VAT for in presence attendance) which shall be paid by the admitted candidates who will not be assigned a scholarship.
Am I allowed to apply for the course even if I have not completed by bachelor or master degree yet?
Yes, the Selection Committee may admit both candidates who have already obtained their degrees or candidates who have not obtained their degrees yet.
Is it possible to edit the application after the payment of the administration fee?
Yes, it is possible to edit or upload the application's materials until the deadline for the applications, as the administration fee payment does not block the edit or upload operations.
Is it possible to apply for more courses?
Yes, you can. Each application will be individually evaluated according to each specific course you apply for.
