Architecture for Food 2019 Edition
Design of a Cooking School with Massimo Bottura
The workshop was conducted in collaboration with chef Massimo Bottura's Osteria Francescana. Three Michelin stars and the receiver of numerous awards that have repeatedly elected him as the best chef in the world, Massimo Bottura is also the protagonist of numerous initiatives aimed at promoting social well-being and enhancing national culture and tradition. The laboratory will therefore examine the recovery project of Villa Sorra and its monumental garden. A masterpiece of the seventeenth century architecture, for years Villa Sorra has been the subject of design reflections aimed at making it, thanks to the experience of Massimo Bottura, one of the most important cooking schools in the world. Under the aegis of the most renowned chef on the international scene, the students tried their hand at designing what, in its ambitions, should qualify as the Italian excellence in food and wine education, a perfect synthesis between the protection of national historical values and a contemporary drive for experimentation.
