Aser Giménez Ortega

Born in Murcia in 1979, Aser Giménez-Ortega completed his architectural studies at the Technical University of Eindhoven in the Netherlands and at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia with a Master of Architecture degree in 2005. Prior to joining the firm MVRDV - since 2007 - he worked on numerous large-scale projects, including: urban design projects such as the Montecorvo Eco-City in Logroño, Spain; on a futuristic vision of Oslo, in Norway; construction projects such as the headquarters of the Norwegian bank DNB in Oslo (Norway); the development of strategies such as the conversion of the island of New Holland in St. Petersburg (Russia); on transformative projects such as the Roskilde Festival High School in Denmark; and research projects such as the Villagio Verticale in collaboration with The Why Factory. He has lectured and coordinated workshops in several cities and universities such as The Hague, Oslo, Istanbul, Bologna, Amsterdam and Plovdiv. Since 2012, he has been coordinating several projects for MVRDV in Asia such as the Hongqiao Central Business District in Shanghai, a complex development of over 105,000 square meters of office and commercial functions, and the conversion of a former industrial district into a Center for Arts and Design in Chongqing (China) and two west waterfront office towers under development in Shanghai.
