Nina Maritz’s thirty-plus years of experience as a Namibian architect has been guided by her interest in sustainability. She has a wide-ranging curiosity about almost unlimited topics, such as: vernacular buildings, natural materials and traditional crafts, the creative process, sensory perception, and the hand-brain connection, nature, ecology, genetics and evolution, among others. As a sustainable architecture advocate Nina has frequently been invited to speak at international conferences, to lecture at universities and to judge international competitions. Her practice focusses on producing environmentally sustainable environments with designs that respond to their context in a powerful sensitive manner.
