Christian Greco

Christian Greco graduated in Egyptology from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. He obtained his PhD in Egyptology at the University of Pisa in 2008. He was epigrapher of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago in Luxor, curator of the Egyptian section of the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden. He has been a member of numerous archaeological missions (of the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Tell Sabi Abyad, of the University of Pisa in Dra Abu el-Naga, of the University of Leiden and of the National Museum of Antiquities in Saqqara, of the Cà Foscari University in Gebel barkal). Furthermore, in 2014 he became Director of the Egyptian Museum of Turin. From 2018 to 2022 he was responsible for coordinating the European museum consortium made up of the Egyptian Museum of Turin, the British Museum, the Louvre, the Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrussammlung and the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, as part of the "Transforming the Egyptian Museum of Cairo" project. Greco regularly collaborates as a teacher with various Italian and foreign universities.
